Received the Excellence Award in the Social Implementation Category at the 2nd Information Health Awards sponsored by the NHK Foundation.
Title: "Yaruki Switch Home: A motivation-switch device for home/personal use"
Overview: A switch device that intervenes in smartphone usage by expressing an intention to turn it on or off. If the switch is ON, the configured app will close even if you try to open it. If it is OFF, you can use it as is. We will explore ways to deal with technology for ourselves, rather than simply cutting it off.
Detailed proposal materials are also available on the website.
The above proposal materials were used in the first screening, and in the second screening, we made a presentation and pitch to the judges.
(Actually, I have applied for two other devices besides this switch device, and it was a good experience to give three presentations in one day.)
Preparing for the presentation provided an opportunity to reconsider ``the issues surrounding the information environment that we want to solve and the background of the concept'' and ``the characteristics and predicted impact of the proposed ideas.''
